Before this, both the teams have faced each other 14 times out of which Pakistan has won 12 times. One match was drawn and one was abandoned. On Sunday, Pakistan progressed to 23/1 in their second innings and were bowled out for 146 runs. Thus Bangladesh got a target of 30 runs to win which the Bangladeshi openers easily achieved. Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 51 runs. While opener Abdullah Shafiq was out after scoring 37 runs and Babar Azam was out after scoring 22 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 4 wickets from Bangladesh. While Shakib Al Hasan got 3 wickets.
Bangladesh team was all out for 565 runs in the first innings. Pakistan declared the first innings on a score of 448/6.

- Pakistani captain angry with coach On the third day of the Pakistan-Bangladesh match, Pakistani captain Shan Masood was seen losing his cool in the dressing room. Meanwhile, he also had a fight with the team's new head coach, Jason Gillespie. The reason behind it is attributed to Babar Azam. Pakistan had a chance to all out Bangladesh early in the first innings, but poor fielding led to Bangladesh's tail-enders scoring runs. Shan Masood was seen talking to the coach about this.
- Shakib got angry, threw the ball at the batsman Shakib was bowling during the 33rd over of Pakistan team's second innings.
