Bangladesh beat Pakistan for the first time in the history of Test cricket. Bangladesh team won by 10 wickets in the first match of the 2 test match series played in Rawalpindi. Before this, both the teams have faced each other 14 times out of which Pakistan has won 12 times. One match was drawn and one was abandoned. Both the teams played a Test for the first time in the year 2001.


On Sunday, Pakistan progressed to 23/1 in their second innings and were bowled out for 146 runs. Thus Bangladesh got a target of 30 runs to win which the Bangladeshi openers easily achieved. Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 51 runs. While opener Abdullah Shafiq was out after scoring 37 runs and Babar Azam was out after scoring 22 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 4 wickets from Bangladesh. While Shakib Al Hasan got 3 wickets.


Bangladesh team was all out for 565 runs in the first innings. Pakistan declared the first innings on a score of 448/6.

  • Pakistani captain angry with coach On the third day of the Pakistan-Bangladesh match, Pakistani captain Shan Masood was seen losing his cool in the dressing room. Meanwhile, he also had a fight with the team's new head coach, Jason Gillespie. The reason behind it is attributed to Babar Azam. Pakistan had a chance to all out Bangladesh early in the first innings, but poor fielding led to Bangladesh's tail-enders scoring runs. Shan Masood was seen talking to the coach about this.


  • Shakib got angry, threw the ball at the batsman Shakib was bowling during the 33rd over of Pakistan team's second innings. Here, when Shakib came in to bowl the second ball of the over, Rizwan was not ready to play him. The experienced Bangladesh bowler came to know about this at the last minute. On the final day of the match, Pakistan advanced to 23/1 in their second innings and were bowled out for 146 runs. Wicketkeeper batsman Mohammad Rizwan played an innings of 51 runs. While opener Abdullah Shafiq was out after scoring 37 runs and Babar Azam was out after scoring 22 runs. Mehdi Hasan Miraj took 4 wickets from Bangladesh. While Shakib Al Hasan got 3 wickets.

Shadman-Mominul partnered
Then opener Shadman Islam took charge of the innings along with Mominul Haq. These two took the team past 100 runs. Mominul was dismissed for 50 and his 94-run partnership with Shadman was broken. He was sent to the pavilion by Khurram Shahzad, who also bowled Shanto. Shadman Islam was dismissed after scoring 93 runs.

Shakib out cheaply, Litten-Mushfiqur takes over
Part-time spinner Sam Ayub caught out the great Shakib Al Hasan. Shakib could score only 15 runs. The team lost 5 wickets on the score of 218 runs. Mushfiqur Rahim and Liton Das took charge of the team from here.

Both wicketkeeper batsmen of Bangladesh took the score past 300 runs. Bangladesh did not lose any more wickets till the end of the third day's play. Rahim scored 55 and Liton 52 not out. By the end of the day's play, the visiting team had scored 316 runs for 5 wickets.

Rizwan and Shakeel scored centuries on the second day
Mohammad Rizwan scored 171 runs and Saeed Shakeel scored 141 runs in the first innings for Pakistan. Based on both their innings, the team scored 448 runs and declared the first innings. Before this, the team lost the first 3 wickets on the score of only 16 runs.

A day before the match, Rawalpindi had received heavy rains, due to which the outfield remained wet on the first day of the Test. Due to which it took 3.30 hours to toss and 4 hours to start the match. Pakistan lost early wickets, but by the end of the game they had scored 158 runs for the loss of 4 wickets.
