Manmohan Singh's last rites tomorrow: Modi and Gandhi family pay tribute; PM says - Doctor Saheb's life is a reflection of his honesty and simplicity

 Former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away on Thursday night. He was 92 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah reached his residence and paid tribute to him. The Union Cabinet meeting has begun here. In which tributes will be paid to the former PM.

Manmohan was ill for a long time. After falling unconscious at home, he was brought to Delhi AIIMS at 8.06 pm. According to a press release from the hospital, he breathed his last at 9.51 pm.


Manmohan Singh became the 14th Prime Minister of the country in 2004. He completed two terms in the post until May 2014. He was the country's first Sikh and the fourth longest-serving Prime Minister.


The central government has declared 7 days of national mourning due to the death of Manmohan Singh. All the programs scheduled for Friday have been canceled.

Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Kharge, after reaching Delhi from Belagavi late at night, went straight to Manmohan Singh's residence. Rahul wrote on X - I have lost my guide and guru.


Meanwhile, the ongoing Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Belagavi, Karnataka was cancelled. Congress Foundation Day programmes have also been cancelled. The party's programmes will start after January 3.


Manmohan's mortal remains will be kept at the Congress headquarters tomorrow, where common people will pay their respects to him. According to the information received, Manmohan's last rites will be performed tomorrow. His daughters will arrive in India from America by this evening. The place where the last rites will be performed will be decided by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO).
